Dragon Hill Spa Downtown Seoul

The Dragon Hill Spa is an all-inclusive health and relaxation complex that is seven-stories high. On the underground level, there is an indoor golf range, a PC room and a video room. On the 1st floor, there is a common jjimjilbang area, an outdoor pool, a food court, a children’s playroom, etc. The women’s sauna is on the 2nd floor, and the women’s jjimjilbang, massage, and esthetics, and locker room are on the 3rd floor. The 4th floor has a fitness center. On the 5th floor is the men’s sauna and locker room. The 6th floor has another men’s sauna and co-ed rooms for napping and resting. The rooftop has a BBQ, a cinema, and a garden. Dragon Hill Spa is one of the largest, most luxurious jimjilbangs in Seoul. I went early one morning and there were very few people so I was able to take these pics:
Getting off the subway at Yongsan Station, look to my right and there it is in the middle of several skyscrapers!I otally did not expect the Vegas tacky neon sign.

The entrance, much more Zen.

This is really a good sized pool--could do laps! There's an ice cream freezer just steps away with my favorite Korean honeydew melon flavor popsicle. I never see ice cream sold in packs, just individually.  Another reason why it is rare to see an obese person!

The view from the outside patio one floor up. Surrounded by tall buildings.

What service would you like? You're familiar with massage, reflexology, cupping, but how an Oriental Medicine Hip Bath or as I call it, a vagina facial?

Look at the photo above this one and you'll see two ladies with pink satin body skirts sitting on pots sans undies with herbal steam cleansing their coochies. It's supposed to help relieve tight hips and menstrual cramping.  Make up your own funny comment here.

                         Menu of services.

Two soaking pools and the scrub room is behind.

The healing properties of the botanicals in the pools is written in Korean; the only one I recognize is mugwort and there is plenty of that.

A bare-chested ajumma emerged from the back. Sturdy and a staunch, she wore black laced panties, while hoisting on, her laced bra top. These working washers have “uniforms” and the black-laced undies are it. Dressed and looking like the mistresses of washing torture, these ajummas can be rough. My ajumma laid me out on the table and flayed me like a fish.   She grabbed her mits, dipped them in a vat of salts and proceeded to scrub my entire body in vigorous fashion, massaging in circulation and removing dead scales. Limbs were lifted, I was flipped around like a ragdoll, my boobs also got vigorous skin shuckings. Nothing was tender about it, but I emerged squeaky clean and baby soft! For twenty bucks, this is the best deal in Korea!!
I love a good steam room and this one is fantastic because it is all tile and behind the  big Roman chalice there is a cool pool to lay in. I'm going to have to go back this weekend just because I saw this again!
The dry sauna looks into the steam sauna and has brick walls with rock salt lamps.

A separate outdoor area has these two shallow pools and the one below that is waist deep and thirty feet long. You can rest on chairs and sunbathe nude if you like.

Now we're looking at the bubbling warm pool that soothes and calms.

This one is good too. There are three strong fountains that pummel and massage your back with while standing and powerful jacuzzi jets on the sides that knead your hips and thighs.

Lay down and hold onto the bars as your body conforms to the molded out space and the jets pulsate and relieve tension from every muscle in your body!

You can't tell from the photo, but this hot pool has tile chairs carved into it with jets in them. Yup, I am definitely returning this weekend!

Are your shoulders feeling better yet?

Huge inside area to just lay down, watch TV, eat, and relax on the heated floor.

Hot room with Egyptian theme.

Cool room after Egyptian room.

Massage chairs on the right and the OMG I can't breathe it's so flippin' hot in there rooms!

Wanna get your nails done?

They look huge, but these desserts are 90% snow. Patbingsu is one of the most  popular summer desserts or snacks in Korea. It looks like a huge snow mountain in a bowl decorated with colorful fruits, sweet red beans and rice cake pieces and sweet creamy condensed milk.

Now here's a lovely lunch.

This place I will miss.
